Scholarships

The high school counselor receives scholarships throughout the school year. The link below will contain all the information for each scholarship including: the amount, qualifications, and forms needed to apply.

Local Scholarships

Local Scholarships will not be available until the Spring. Separate information will be distributed to all WBHS seniors. If using Google Chrome to fill out the scholarship pdf, here is a website to show you how to save the filled in pdf.

Herb Kohl Student Excellence Scholarship

The purpose of the Herb Kohl Excellence Scholarship program is to recognize student leadership, citizenship, school and community involvement, and academic achievement.  It is the goal of the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation to encourage Wisconsin youth to pursue post-secondary education in a public or nonpublic university, college, or vocational/technical college. The Foundation awards $10,000 scholarships to 100 Wisconsin high school graduates each year.

Other Scholarship Programs

Some scholarships get sent to WBHS through the State of WIsconsin and other major organizations. These types of scholarships are awarded based on nomination from the WBHS staff.

Using the internet has become a great tool to search for scholarships. There are several websites that you can visit to find money to help fund your education. Please remember this is a process that may need to be repeated on a monthly basis because new scholarships continue to become available! Here are a few links to get you started:

  • goingmerry.com: Free scholarship and financial aid website that has personalized matching.

  • Fast Web: Very comprehensive site contains a database of over 600,000 scholarships and is growing all the time. Complete a questionnaire and Fast Web will give you a list of scholarships for which you are eligible.

  • Go College:The GoCollege Site offers the elite version of this commercially produced college data base. Users can fill in the questionnaire and get leads on about 1/3 of the scholarships in this data base or pay $9 to access the entire scholarship data base.

  • Peterson's: Is a one stop college resource. It has a number of great resources and free search tools.

​​

  • CAPPEX: A large scholarship database- with more then 11 million in scholarships! 

​​

  • Scholarships.com: offers a robust database of grants across the country. In fact, the site has collected over 3.7 million scholarships adding up to $19 billion.

 

  • Scholarship Monkey: Find tons of scholarships that are searchable by keyword. Plus, you can create a profile and save scholarships to revisit at a later time.

  • Scholly: Its a website and a mobile app!  Just create an account, enter information about your location and activities, and Scholly will match you with local and national scholarships.
